Animals Should Not be Used for Scientific Testing

With progressive technology, the need of animals testing has been more essential than ever before. Recently, the scientists have researched and done some experiments on the innocent animals. Today, human can progress and improve so well which can be attributed to these “tested” animals. Nonetheless, the truth is that some of the animals were treated in cruel way for the treatment requesting. In this way, lots of tested animals have died miserably. Hence, people start being aware of the scientific testing in unethical way. Along with the following paragraphs will demonstrate why I am against animal testing.

First of all, animal experiment is cruel and inhuman. As I mentioned previously, scientists can dominate tested animals’ life without their permission. Sometimes, for the specific purposes, animals are deprived of food and water. What’s worse, animals are subjected to the infliction of injury for examining the possibility of treatments. For example, when it comes to healing treatment, the scientists would make these naïve “samples” sick in the beginning, then give the therapy and check whether it works successfully or not. Therefore, people understand that it is not a proper way to treat these animals like a tool just for testing the treatment.
What’s more, human testing can replace animal testing completely now. According to the website ProCon.organization (2020), “The COVID-19 global pandemic demonstrated that researchers can skip animal testing and go straight to observing how vaccines work in humans.” In this case, animal testing can stop from then on and animals don’t have to suffer more pain. In addition, 3D printing also provides another choice to reduce or even replace animal experiments. Technological advancement in 3D printing permits the possibility for tissue bioprinting. In other words, researchers can create the tissue mechanically and do the experiments without harming animals. In this way, human can put in the first place for testing and animals will no longer suffer more pain.
However, still some advocators consider that animal testing makes human’s life more advanced and convenient. In terms of the process, animals indeed save more time than human because human have to sign lots of contacts; on the contrary, animals don’t have to do so. If scientists resolve to test on human body eventually, then it exists the risk of mistreatment. Consequently, scientists may bear much more pressure and obligations. On the contrary, researchers can control these animals easily and fast. Nonetheless, ProCon.organization (2020) shows that “The anatomic, metabolic, and cellular differences between animals and people make animals poor models for human beings.” Since the advocators always have a false message that human share 99% of DNA with chimpanzees, considering animals testing as usual, and reasonable reasons. These tens of thousands of animals were abused by human’s hand as a means of torture without a doubt. It turns out that these tested animals have no rights to protect themselves, being manipulated strongly by human. Ultimately, that is the reason why I have been disagreeing animal testing for so long time for the purpose of stopping the tragedy.

Bluntly, people shouldn’t take advantage of animals in scientific experiments. We can’t take it for granted. Without a doubt, these animals weren’t born for testing rather than living originally. In addition, with new technology advancement, 3D printing now can replace the animals with human beings. In this way, it’s not necessary to use animals for experiment. However, some advocators who support the idea of animal testing reckon that benefits and profits come to the first place. In other words, they think that conducting the tests with less steps is the most important thing to them. In fact, the research indicates that our body system is different from animals. Therefore, it may cause some errors when undergoing the experiments. Finally, in my point of view, people should be more respectful and friendly to the animals due to the fact that we all live on this planet and every creature deserves the equal rights as human do.
